India's Numaligarh Refinery capacity to triple to 9 million tonnes by 2024, with a 1,640 km pipeline for imported crude.

India's Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri announced the expansion of Numaligarh Refinery's capacity in Assam, set to triple from 3 million tonnes per year to 9 million tonnes per annum, with completion by 2024. A 1,640 km pipeline will transport imported crude from Paradip Port to Numaligarh. The expansion project, with an approved budget of Rs 28,026 crore, has received environmental clearance.
