Ghanaian anti-corruption advocate Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa pursued a case against late minister Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, who attempted to buy a state-owned property he lived in while serving as minister. Ablakwa lost the Supreme Court case, but became an anti-corruption reference point. Lamptey, who held multiple ministerial roles, bought the house after being notified it would be sold following the Kufuor administration.
