BJP-led Centre admits to providing "zero" funds to West Bengal under MGNREGS in 2023-24.
TMC MP, Derek O'Brien, highlights that the BJP-led Centre admitted to providing "zero" funds to West Bengal under the MGNREGS, as per a Rajya Sabha reply. The Union Rural Development Ministry had previously stated that funds were stopped on March 9, 2022, due to non-compliance. In the 2023-24 financial year, no households completed 100 days of wage employment in West Bengal under the scheme, a stark contrast to 4,71,136 households in 2021-22.
