Australian Government launches public consultation on NDIS reforms to tackle sustainability and cost concerns.

The Australian Government has launched public consultation on proposed changes to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to tackle concerns over its sustainability and cost. Expected to surpass $50 billion by 2025/26, the NDIS is set to undergo a series of reforms aiming to control its growth to 8% and prevent it from consuming other parts of the federal budget. The draft lists of supported services, outlining what will and won't be funded by the scheme, are now open for public discussion until August 18. This move aims to reduce uncertainty and confusion, enabling NDIS participants to achieve desired outcomes. The National Disability Insurance Scheme currently supports almost 650,000 Australians with disabilities.
