Richard Ogilvie, an allergic cattle breeder, won the heaviest bull category at Queensland's Ekka, the largest annual beef cattle show in the southern hemisphere, with his bull, Spitfire. Despite his allergy, Ogilvie dedicated three years to prepare Spitfire, who weighed 1178 kg, as heavy as a small car. Over 1200 beef cattle from 20 breeds participated in the event, expected to attract up to 400,000 attendees at the Brisbane Showgrounds from August 9 to August 18.
