A wildfire erupted near the Canada-U.S. border, about four km south of Osoyoos in Oroville, Washington, on Saturday. The blaze, currently mapped at 50 acres, has prompted a response from US Forest Service ground crews and heavy equipment, as well as aerial resources. The fire is moving rapidly east and north, with both the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen's emergency operations centre and the BC Wildfire Service closely monitoring the situation.
