98-year-old WWII Navy veteran Roald Zvonik was honored with his long-awaited medals in a ceremony at the South Moline Senior Center. His daughter and Congressman Eric Sorensen organized the event after discovering his military paperwork had been damaged in a 1973 fire. Zvonik, who served in the Philippine Island Campaign and Japan, expressed gratitude for the recognition and community support.
