29-year-old boater rescued from Lake Huron by civilian, charged under Canada Shipping Act.

A civilian's prompt actions saved a boater who fell into Lake Huron near Bluepoint on July 26, after a distress call was heard over marine radio. The civilian spotted the individual in distress and brought them to safety before emergency services arrived. The 29-year-old rescued boater from Sarnia was later charged under the Canada Shipping Act for lack of proof of competency and operating a vessel with inadequate safety equipment.
