2026: US Army's $70bn FLRAA program advances, Textron Bell wins bid, replacing 2,000 Black Hawks by 2030.

The U.S. Army's $70bn Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program has advanced to the critical engineering and manufacturing development phase, moving towards replacing around 2,000 Black Hawk utility helicopters by 2030. Textron Bell won the bid in late 2022, with the first prototype expected to fly in 2026. The FLRAA will provide assault and medical evacuation capabilities with increased speed, range, and endurance.
