Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre has filed an appeal with Mississippi Supreme Court to overturn a judge's ruling that blocked his lead attorney from representing him in a lawsuit regarding misspent welfare funds. Favre is accused of improperly receiving $1.1m in fees from a nonprofit organization that spent welfare money with the Mississippi Department of Human Services' approval. Despite repaying the $1.1m, Favre still owes interest, causing the amount he owes to increase.
