A $2.53m Highway 166/Black Road intersection safety improvement project in Santa Maria, California is underway, with overnight work set to begin on August 5. One-way reversing traffic control will be implemented from 8pm to 3am during which time k-rail and detour signs will be removed, opening up Black Road and adding temporary striping. The project, due for completion in fall, includes a new traffic light, reflective markings, dedicated turning lanes, improved lighting, reflective pavement markings, and enhanced drainage and flood control, aimed at improving safety and traffic flow in the area.
