2022 floods damaged completed RBOD-I and RBOD-III projects; Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources advises Dam Safety Act, updated website.
Pakistan's Ministry of Water Resources reported that the RBOD-I and RBOD-III projects were completed on time but were damaged due to 2022's torrential rains and floods. The Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources has directed the ministry to make a Dam Safety Act in line with regional legislation and recommended filling vacant posts up to BS-16. The committee also urged the Federal Flood Commission to update its website regularly with current data on rivers and monsoon.
