3 conservation groups sue federal government over Montana predator management program, claiming annual grizzly bear kill.

Three conservation groups are suing the federal government for its predator management program in Montana, alleging that the program is killing 30 grizzly bears annually despite the species being listed as threatened since 1975. The conservationists argue that the Wildlife Services' environmental assessment on predator removal activities in 2021 did not analyze the state's grizzly bear population properly, and seek partial annulment of the assessment and a halt to the program until new assessments can be done.
