Valeura Energy restarts Wassana field production in Gulf of Thailand after safety inspection.

Valeura Energy Inc., a Canadian public oil and gas company, has restarted production at its Wassana field in the Gulf of Thailand, after a temporary suspension due to a safety inspection. The company identified an anomaly in the steel jack-up legs of its mobile offshore production unit (MOPU) but found it to be superficial and not a risk. Valeura anticipates returning to pre-suspension oil production rates of about 5,000 barrels per day within a week while maintaining safety standards and regular underwater inspections.
