India's Supreme Court denies probe into electoral bonds scheme, deeming it premature.

India's Supreme Court has denied calls for a probe into the electoral bonds scheme, claiming it is "premature" and "inappropriate" at this stage. The scheme, which allows for anonymous political donations, was previously struck down by the court for violating transparency. Petitioners had hoped for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe, led by a retired judge, to investigate potential quid pro quo arrangements between political parties and corporates. The court advised the petitioners to use existing legal remedies available under Indian law to address their concerns.
