Pakistan's Shehbaz Sharif-led government is considering providing income tax relief to salaried class earning up to Rs100,000 per month, possibly diverting funds from the development budget. The National Assembly has set a tax revenue target of 13 trillion rupees ($46.66bn) for the upcoming fiscal year, a 40% increase from the current year. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be consulted on the proposed relief.
