Outbrain acquires Teads for $1 billion, forming a large full-funnel platform for the open internet and connected TV.

Content recommendation firm Outbrain has acquired adtech firm Teads for $1 billion, creating one of the largest full-funnel platforms for the open internet, including connected TV. The combined company will operate under the Outbrain name and focus on delivering "tangible outcomes" such as attention, deep engagement, and ecommerce conversions, while working with 20,000 direct advertisers and a base of over 10,000 premium media environments. The acquisition aims to create one of the largest direct supply paths across the open internet and CTV, moving away from other platform players that base value primarily on views and impressions.
