Ngāpuhi leaders walk out of meeting with PM Luxon over perceived disregard of Maori rights.

Ngāpuhi leaders, a prominent Māori tribe in New Zealand, staged a walkout during a meeting with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, protesting against Coalition Government policies they believe disregard Maori rights. Issues cited include Māori wards, changes to the Oranga Tamariki Act, overturning the seabed and foreshore judgment, and the Treaty Principles bill. Ngāpuhi now plans to exclude the government from meetings and will lead a hikoi and hold a rally to protest government policies.
