New South Wales launches a parliamentary inquiry into online pornography's impacts on young people.

New South Wales (NSW) becomes the first Australian state to launch a parliamentary inquiry investigation into the impacts of online pornography on young people. Concerns raised include the ease of access to violent and extreme adult content, normalisation of misogyny and violence online, and the worsening rates of violence against women. The inquiry will examine the age at which children first see pornography, the effects of early exposure, and support available to parents. It will also assess the physical, mental, and emotional impacts, including self-esteem and body image, and consider deepfakes and AI-generated pornography.
