Liberal MP Anita Vandenbeld's actions caused distress to domestic violence survivors during a parliamentary committee hearing.
Liberal MP Anita Vandenbeld has expressed regret for causing distress to witnesses who left a parliamentary committee hearing in tears due to her actions. Vandenbeld accused Conservatives of hastily preparing the agenda and steered the discussion away from domestic violence to focus on abortion rights. This resulted in two witnesses, domestic violence survivor Cait Alexander and women's advocate Megan Walker, storming out of the meeting in frustration. Vandenbeld did not issue an apology but acknowledged her regret for the emotional distress caused to the witnesses.
