India's Supreme Court maintains NEET-UG 2024 exam, orders improvements in security and monitoring.

The Supreme Court of India has ruled against cancelling the NEET-UG 2024 examination due to paper leak allegations, instead directing the Centre-appointed committee to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at improving technological safeguards, identity verification procedures, and implementing CCTV monitoring at exam centers. The Court emphasized the importance of using technological advancements to detect potential weaknesses in the examination system's cybersecurity and noted that there was no systematic breach of the examination papers, with leaks limited to specific locations in Patna and Hazaribagh. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been advised to address its structural processes and improve its overall functioning.
