India's Spices Board has implemented mandatory pre-shipment testing to address ethylene oxide (EtO) contamination in spice exports to Singapore and Hong Kong, following recalls and Singapore's temporary halt of imports. Indian spices have not been banned by these markets, and the Board continues to work on measures to prevent contamination. India's trade with neighboring countries, including Singapore and Hong Kong, totaled $676.6 billion over the past five years.
