Indian Air Force Chinook and MI17 helicopters joined rescue efforts in Uttarakhand, evacuating over 500 stranded pilgrims along the rain-damaged Kedarnath trek route. The MI17 airlifted 10 pilgrims on Friday, while the Chinook and MI17 helicopters were deployed to accelerate ongoing rescue operations, following an update on the situation provided to the Prime Minister's Office. NDRF and SDRF personnel assisted in the evacuations, with over 3,000 pilgrims safely evacuated through aerial and surface operations.
