Tommy Michael VanHoose, owner of Highwood Creek Outfitters LLC gun shop in Montana, has been charged with five counts of filing false tax returns after an undercover IRS investigation uncovered his failure to report approximately $1.4 million of gross receipts, leading to a tax loss of nearly $500,000. VanHoose admitted to skimming cash and not fully reporting 20% of his business income to the IRS. The investigation found that he underreported about 20% of his income for tax years 2018 to 2022, owing the IRS approximately $492,254.
