Ghana's Narcotics Control Commission (NaCoC) warns about rising nitrous oxide, or 'laughing gas', abuse among youth. Initially created for medical, commercial, and industrial uses, the chemical has gained popularity due to its sweet scent and taste, causing users to seek short-term euphoria. NaCoC's Ashanti Regional Director, Mr. Samuel Yeboah, urges the Foods and Drugs Authority to regulate nitrous oxide more strictly on the market as misuse can worsen respiratory conditions and harm the heart and brain.
