China increases meteorological coverage and launches risk warning systems for severe weather conditions.

China has enhanced its meteorological monitoring and forecasting, with its weather radars covering 43.6% at an altitude of one km. The China Meteorological Administration added three buoy stations and 218 drifting buoys, initiated imminent flash flood warnings, and launched a pilot meteorological risk warning system for rainstorms and waterlogging in 17 cities. The improvements provide better monitoring of severe weather conditions like typhoons and convection in key regions.
