Uber partners with BYD to supply 100,000 electric vehicles to global drivers and collaborate on autonomous-capable vehicles.

Ride-hailing giant Uber has partnered with Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker BYD in a multi-year initiative to supply 100,000 electric BYD vehicles to Uber drivers across key global markets. Starting in Europe and Latin America and later expanding to the Middle East, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, the partnership aims to reduce the total cost of EV ownership for Uber drivers and increase the global uptake of EVs. Additionally, the companies plan to collaborate on BYD's autonomous-capable vehicles for deployment on the Uber platform.
