Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has resigned, effective August 2, and will return to the private sector. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. accepted Pascual's resignation and acknowledged his contributions in guiding the Philippine economy's restoration and transformation. A search for a successor has begun to ensure a smooth transition. Pascual previously held notable positions, including President of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) and President and co-chairman of the University of the Philippines System.
