Study finds less-than-perfectly matched donor chemotherapy reduces GVHD risk in bone marrow transplant recipients.

MSK study shows that chemotherapy post-stem cell/bone marrow transplant from less than perfectly matched donors significantly reduces graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) risk. Outcomes for patients with partially matched donors who received chemotherapy were nearly as good as those with fully matched donors. The study involved over 10,000 bone marrow transplant recipients and demonstrated new insights into cell state changes in treatment-resistant prostate cancer, highlighting a wide variety of cell states.
