India's smartphone market shipments declined 2% year-on-year in Q2 2024 due to heatwaves, seasonal slumps, and slower demand. Despite this, Xiaomi regained the top spot in terms of volume share, and Samsung led in value terms. The 5G smartphone segment reached a record 77% share of overall shipments. In terms of market rankings, Xiaomi reclaimed the first rank with a volume share of 18.9%, followed by Vivo with 18.8% and Samsung with 18.1%. The smartphone market achieved its highest-ever Q2 value, driven by the ongoing trend of premiumization. The ultra-premium smartphone segment saw a 24% year-on-year growth.
