Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians will open North Carolina's first recreational marijuana dispensary, the Great Smoky Cannabis Company, on September 7th, initially for tribal members and medical patients, followed by a full opening to the public aged 21+. The $50M dispensary, located near Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, will offer a range of cannabis products. Although 24 states have legalized recreational marijuana, North Carolina has not, with marijuana possession outside tribal lands still facing charges.
