A Danish man of Somalian origin, Mohamed Mahamed (48), has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a "sophisticated operation" that involved smuggling a woman into Ireland. Mahamed pleaded guilty to unlawfully assisting the woman's entry into Dublin Airport. The woman arrived from Luxembourg on a Ryanair flight without any travel or identity documents and had previously sought asylum in Greece, which was denied. She claimed to have paid Mahamed $500 to help her enter Ireland.
