33-year-old Sean Evan Thomas Bad Bear, serving a 10-month sentence for strangulation of an intimate partner, was found unresponsive and later died at the Federal Correctional Institution in Leavenworth, KS on July 29th. The cause of death has not been released, and an ongoing investigation is underway. No employees, other inmates, or the public were in danger.
