The Philadelphia Phillies acquired left-handed relief pitcher Tanner Banks from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for minor league infielder William Bergolla, while sending left-handed pitcher Gregory Soto to the Baltimore Orioles. Banks, 32, has a 4.13 ERA this season, while Soto had a 4.08 ERA in 43 appearances for the Phillies. The trades come after the Phillies acquired closer Carlos Estévez from the Los Angeles Angels a few days earlier.
