Michigan adds invasive lesser celandine to its watch list for threatening native plants.

Michigan's Department of Natural Resources has added lesser celandine, an invasive plant with heart-shaped leaves and glossy yellow flowers, to the state's watch list. Initially brought to Michigan as a garden plant, lesser celandine has spread uncontrollably and threatens native plants, reproducing through seeds, tubers, and other methods. It is particularly challenging to control due to its early spring growth and disappearance before summer.
