The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Council, chaired by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, approved granting proprietary rights on state land to West Pakistan Displaced Persons (DPs) of 1965 and 1947 DPs, empowering thousands of families in the region. This move follows the conferring of Domicile rights to these DPs by the Government of India in 2019. The decision addresses longstanding demands for ownership rights from connected families.
