Campfire ban lifted in northern British Columbia's Prince George and Northwest Fire Centres from August 1, but Category 2 and 3 open fires remain prohibited.

Starting August 1 at noon, the campfire ban in northern British Columbia's Prince George and Northwest Fire Centres will be lifted due to decreased fire risk. However, residents are advised to exercise caution and the ban for Category 2 and Category 3 open fires remains in effect. The BC Wildfire Service will continue to monitor fire danger levels and may reinstate the campfire ban if conditions worsen.
