Australian government agrees to 130 Disability Royal Commission recommendations, allocating $371 million, including a specialist disability employment program and a disability advocacy program.
The Australian government has responded to the 222 recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission's final report, agreeing to 130 in full or in principle. The government has outlined $371 million in measures to implement this response, including a $227.6 million specialist disability employment program and a $40 million disability advocacy program. The response does not address calls to phase out segregated schools and group homes for people with disabilities. Progress will be reviewed every six months by a ministerial council.
