15-year-old Ryan Eastwick was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison for manslaughter in the High Court at Christchurch, after deliberately causing a fatal car crash that killed 60-year-old Sandra Loveday. In the lead-up to the crash, Eastwick was messaging in a Snapchat group where one participant was bullying him. After receiving a hug goodnight from his mother, Eastwick drove his mother's car at high speed, causing the fatal collision.
