46-year-old Irish mother, convicted of neglect and sexual abuse of her toddler son, has had her original suspended sentence overturned by the Court of Appeal as "unduly lenient." The mother, who has mental health issues and low intellectual functioning, was given a total of three years for sexual assault and sexual exploitation and one year for child cruelty, with none of the sentence suspended due to her lack of remorse. The child, now in foster care, displayed severe developmental delays and impairments.
