34-year-old Ashley Callingbull, an Indigenous woman from Enoch Cree Nation, has made history as the first Indigenous winner of Miss Universe Canada. Callingbull, a married mother, actress, model, activist, and host for various sports leagues, previously won Mrs. Universe in 2015 and became the first Indigenous woman to model for Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit edition in 2022. She will represent Canada in the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico in November.
