Vietnamese PM Pham Minh Chinh visits India for 3-day state visit to boost cooperation in new areas such as digital economy and renewable energy. India views Vietnam as a key pillar of Act East policy and an important partner in its Indo-Pacific vision. PM Chinh's visit to India, the first in a decade, aims to strengthen traditional cooperation areas and expand into new sectors like digital economy, telecommunications, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, information technology, and renewable energy. Since 2016, two-way trade has grown two-and-a-half times, reaching around $15 billion in 2023.
