Spain's competition authority fined online travel agency Booking.com $448 million for "abusing its dominant position" over the past five years. The fine, the largest ever imposed by the CNMC, was due to practices that affected hotels in Spain and other online travel agencies that compete with the platform, creating an inequitable imbalance in their commercial relationship. Booking.com's market share in Spain during the period under investigation was between 70% and 90%.
