Retired Pakistani Army officer, Akbar Hussain, sentenced to 14 years for inciting sedition among army personnel.

Retired Pakistani Army officer, Lieutenant Colonel Akbar Hussain, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for inciting sedition among army personnel. The Field General Court Martial (FGCM) found him guilty under the Pakistan Army Act, 1952, and his rank will be forfeited on July 26, 2024. This is not the first time such a case has been dealt with in Pakistan; in 2023, ex-Major Adil Farooq Raja and ex-Captain Haider Raza Mehdi were also convicted and sentenced for similar charges.
