Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the families of Wayanad landslide victims, as the death toll rose due to heavy downpours. The PM also assured Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of all possible help from the Centre to handle the crisis. The injured would be given Rs 50,000.
