NTT Docomo launches Japan's fastest 5G Standalone (SA) service with 6.6Gbps speeds on August 1.

NTT Docomo, a Japanese mobile operator, will start offering Japan's fastest 5G Standalone (SA) service on August 1, providing download speeds up to 6.6Gbps. This is enabled by using New Radio-Dual Connectivity (NR-DC) across Sub-6 (3.7GHz and 4.5GHz) and millimeter-wave (28GHz) frequency bands. The technology will initially be available in specific zones within the 5G SA coverage areas in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture, with plans for expansion.
