1.8 million Tesla vehicles recalled due to software issue causing hood to open while driving.

Tesla has recalled over 1.8 million vehicles in the US due to a software issue that may result in the hood fully opening while the vehicle is in motion. The issue, which affects most of Tesla's cars, including the Model S, 3, X, and Y, may not notify the driver that the hood is open, causing potential obstruction of the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash. Tesla has stated that it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue, and has started delivering a free over-the-air software update to customers since June 18, which will detect the open hood and notify the driver.
