A man was found dead in Waterfall, Cork, after concerns for his safety were reported. Gardaí established a cordon and initiated their Operational Command protocol, including the presence of local negotiators. The case has been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission under Section 102 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005, and no further comment will be made by An Garda Síochána.
