The Kansas City Royals defeated the Chicago White Sox 8-5 on Monday, extending the White Sox's losing streak to a franchise-record 15 consecutive games. Royals player Bobby Witt Jr. hit a go-ahead grand slam in the eighth inning, leading the team to a comeback victory. Witt's grand slam was his 19th home run of the season and his third career grand slam. The Royals improved to 58-49, remaining in position for the final AL Wild Card.
