India's petrol and diesel prices decreased between Nov 2021 and Apr 2024, while neighboring countries' prices increased.
India is the only country where petrol and diesel prices have decreased between November 2021 and April 2024, according to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. India's petrol prices dropped by 13.65% and diesel by 10.97% over the same period, while prices increased in neighboring countries such as France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Puri attributed the decline to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "bold, ambitious, and farsighted" decisions.
